Anyhow.. this is another showcase of your great eye for lighting and colour. There's a myriad of amazing colours in the bullets, which is really quite remarkable.
What I really like about this though is in the focal point, where everything is nice n crisp, the bullets are really protruding out of the shot, and away from the helmet.. but as you look down to the bottom right side, they kinda merge into the helmet. There's less emphasis on the texture because of the focus, and they share that greeny-gold colour. Gives the picture a real nice sense of depth.
You've treated this shot in quite a romantic manner.. with the layout, and particularly the lighting. This image couldn't be further from pierced flesh, blood & gore.. which makes this quite an interesting treatment of the subject matter.

Oh yeah Justin, I forgot to add: It doesn't capture anything for me. I more so interpret it as a detailed look at something I have never looked at in detail. Though, my photographic preference lends itself to images that extract and capture something. thought I'd add that.
jedeye: incendiary (explosive) rounds, tracers, and armor piercing rounds. nitsuj can tell in which order. by the way, nice photo nitsuj-ex. hope your ride home was comfortable.
the sharpness in the texture on the helmet is outstanding. and i'm glad the background goes with the subject, rather than just being your room or something. i see that in a lot of close up shots and i hate it when the background just takes you out of the scene. cool shot and interesting subject matter.
